Description
The Lovers' Walk that connects Borgo Foce to Borgo Marina, romantic and scenic, overlooking the sea, is one of the most evocative places in the city.
Starting from the small esplanade named after the painter Luigi Varese (Porto Maurizio 1825 – 1899), begins the wonderful walk dedicated to Domenico Moriani, a young partisan from Foce murdered by the Nazis in October 1944 at just 19 years old.
The walk allows you to reach the nearby Borgo della Marina , in a pleasant up and down.
The path, completely pedestrian, takes about ten minutes and winds along the seafront through typical Mediterranean scrub that releases the characteristic scents and aromas of Ligurian vegetation: myrtle, lavender, and rosemary.
From here, when the sea is calm and clear, you can clearly see the rocks typical of the shallow seabed, called " le ratteghe ".
You can sit and gaze at the sea and "sunbathe" or enjoy magnificent fiery red sunsets, sitting on the stone benches along the path.
