Description
The beautiful Galeazza beach is one of the most beloved by the residents of Imperia. Surrounded by wild and unspoiled nature, it offers unrestricted sunbathing, while its seabed offers wonderful excursions for snorkeling enthusiasts. On windy days, it transforms into a surfer 's paradise.
At the base of Capo Berta , a magnificent promontory overlooking the sea, the scene of numerous cycling challenges during the Milan-Sanremo which links Imperia to Diano Marina , you will find many beaches, rocks and inlets .
Just below the Capo Berta climb lies the panoramic walk between the two cities, known as the " Incompiuta ." Walking near the beginning of the Imperia side of the walk, just a few meters from the shore, you'll find the evocative " Galeazza rock ."
The spectacular beach , free and immersed in wild and uncontaminated nature , takes its name from this rock, perhaps so called because of its shape similar to the sail of ancient boats .
Galeazza is one of the most beloved beaches in Imperia: the ideal place for those who love tranquility and the sea and rocky landscape, but also for those who prefer snorkeling and spearfishing . The seabed is rich in marine flora and fauna , and you can admire various animal and plant species such as the spotted pipefish, John Dory, and octopus, as well as Posidonia Oceanica and Cymodocea Nodosa. On windy days, it becomes a paradise for board sports: surfing, kitesurfing, and windsurfing .
If you want to explore the surroundings and the other beaches, mostly stony and with deep seabeds, just continue the walk , between the blue of the sea and the green of the Mediterranean scrub, certainly one of the most beautiful in Liguria , which can be travelled on foot or by bicycle like a " natural cycle path ", especially at dawn and dusk.

There is a saying among the people of Imperia: "to be as still as the Galeazza", to indicate a lazy person or a "blocked" situation.
